Open Question: How come people tell me that I'm a self fish person if all I worry about all day is my upcoming marriage?

So these vietnamese people in my town in the united states have told me that I'm a self fish brat because I don't do things that they do like protest against communism and stuff like that. I don't do that because I don't have time to do silly crap like that and two I'm planning to travel to vietnam and find a wife. They said I'm really self fish and they hope that I end up getting a girl from vietnam who uses me for a green card. They've been arguing with me since January 2008 when I told some people at a vietnamese new year festival In San Jose, California that I'm planning to go to vietnam to get married. Do you think I'm self fish ?? In my opinion, I'm not self fish I'm smart enough to keep my mouth shut to get married someday while they might not be able to travel to vietnam if they keep it up. Besides, the vietnam war has been over for 35 years, why can everyone just get along and stop being bitter over stupid stuffs ? Those same people harassed a vietnamese female singer from vietnam a few weeks ago when she came over here to perform, they sprayed pepper spray in her eyes.
